GOING GREEN |
 |
There’s a lot of talk these days about “Going Green” and also a lot of confusion about just what “Going Green” means. We believe that even the smallest steps taken towards preserving the earth’s environment and combating global warming is a step in the right direction. Not only does it enhance the well-being of you and your family but also supports a healthy community and natural environment. |

At RedSetter we like to do things right and for us that means building a house as green as the scope of the project allows. Our philosophy is that siting and orienting a house properly and choosing high performance materials and systems will benefit the client, the design and the environment. |

In practical terms we can help you go green by utilizing some or all of these elements in your building process: |
- Using sun and site to the building’s advantage for natural heating, cooling and lighting;
- Landscaping with native, drought-resistant plants and water-efficient practices;
- Building quality, durable structures;
- Reducing and recycling construction and demolition waste;
- Insulating well and ventilating appropriately;
- Incorporating durable, salvages, recycled and sustainably harvested materials;
- Using healthy products and building practices;
- Using energy-efficient and water-saving appliances, fixtures and technologies.

When implemented, to whatever degree possible, these strategies help to preserve our environment for future generations by conserving natural resources and protecting air and water quality. They also can provide immediate benefits by increasing comfort and helping to maintain healthy air quality. And finally, these green building strategies ultimately can result in an economic benefit to you by reducing maintenance and replacement requirements, reducing utility bills and lowering the cost of home ownership, and increasing property and resale values.
We have experience implementing all levels of green building and encourage taking a green approach to any building to be done. Feel free to contact us to discuss any of your green needs. |
