"When Cari and I selected a general contractor for our complete beachfront remodel in Malibu, we knew that we needed a very level headed yet persistent general contractor who could build rapport with the City of Malibu inspectors, engineers, designers and neighbors. Todd Wilmot of RedSetter Development met these criteria and our instincts about his firm’s capabilities helped create a result which Cari and I deem to be beyond our expectations.

In terms of difficulty, rebuilding a house on a postage stamp lot on Pacific Coast Highway is like trying to build a strip mall in the median of a freeway! As challenging as this was, Todd and RedSetter got the job done in an exemplary fashion. While the job was in progress, Todd consistently managed to keep Cari and me out the nuts and bolts of the development process, personally handling all of the details with our best interests in mind. Decisions were easy for us to make after Todd filtered all of the details. His advice on the selection of a drilling and caisson contractor, septic system plumbing contractor and a structural steel contractor proved invaluable. (We will always remember the three huge steel beams that were lifted over the telephone poles within six inches of each house to the east and west of us, by a giant crane sitting in the middle of Pacific Coast Highway!).

Todd understood early on exactly what we (and our design team) expected with regard to finishes. His drywall, flooring, finish carpentry and tile subcontractors produced stellar results. On the outside of the house, Todd convinced us to hire Marmol Radziner Prefab, a premier design/build steel contractor, who designed and installed a stainless steel panel system for the siding. This turned out to be a terrific decision.

The fact is that RedSetter gets it and more importantly RedSetter and Todd Wilmot know how get it done, no matter what the obstacles. We had plenty of obstacles during our construction process but Todd handled them one, two and three at a time. Cari and I would highly recommend RedSetter Development and Todd Wilmot as a general contractor on any custom home construction project."
